Daysails and overnight excursions with a captain are offered aboard Thaya, a Hunter 31, on Lake Titicaca, at the border between Peru and Bolivia.
Sailing is available year-round; high season in the region is from May through September, with winds averaging 8 to 15 knots in July, August, and September. January, February, and March are the rainy-season months; the average air temperature year-round is in the 60s F.

At 12,500 feet above sea level, Lake Titicaca is the world’s highest navigable lake. It covers 3,200 square miles and is 50 miles across at its widest point, with an average depth of about 350 feet. Destinations include villages, beaches, Taquile and Tikonata islands, and the islands of the Titicaca National Reserve, which lies in the western part of the lake.
