The sure-footed, upgraded Gemini Legacy 35 catamaran is a fresh take on a proven favorite.

On to the Caribbean

Fellow delivery crew member (and CW staffer) David Gillespie shares the experience of his first blue-water passage to the Caribbean after leaving George Town, Bahamas.

Moorings 5800

The latest addition to The Moorings fleet, built in South Africa by Robertson and Caine, was designed for the crewed-charter market and for luxurious worldwide cruising by private owners. For chartering, the innovative five-cabin layout includes a pair of bridgedeck staterooms. The Moorings 5800 is part of Cruising World’s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Seawind Cats Sails Onward

After undergoing a business restructuring in its base south of Sydney, Australia, Seawind Catamarans will likely be building its entire line of award-winning cats in Vietnam.

The indikon k4: A Hybrid Cat for Cruisers and Fishermen

Five years ago, racing sailor and offshore fisherman Todd Berman came up with a novel idea for a new kind of boat: a hybrid vessel that would combine the pure, clean power of the wind with the comfort and convenience of a highly efficient, easily driven motor yacht—sort of a high-seas Prius that would give its owners the best of both worlds.

Born a Sailor

For 13-year-old writer and sailor Tristan Bridge, exploring new coastlines is a way of existence.

Nautitech 441

With a single helm station at deck level to port, the Nautitech 441 is ideally set up for solo operation. (Its sister ship, the 442, has two helms aft and outboard.) A cat with real offshore capability, it also offers the option of a dedicated owners stateroom in the starboard hull, which includes a fine work space/office. The Nautitech 441 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Leopard 48

Taking the place of the Leopard 46 in the South African company’s line of long-range catamarans, this new 48-footer is equipped with a raised helm station with all controls led to the driver for easy handling and maneuverability. Optional layouts include either four staterooms or a large owners suite and two staterooms. The Leopard 48 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Isara 50

Built in Taiwan at the Ta Yang yard, the longtime builder of Tayana Yachts, the new Isara line of “semicustom luxury catamarans” is a fresh addition to the bustling multihull scene. The 50 is spacious and extremely stylish; owners play a major role in determining layouts and accoutrements. A 45 is coming soon. The Isara 50 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Helia 44

Spacious and bathed in natural light from the coachroof and cockpit skylights and the saloon’s large wraparound windows, Fountaine Pajot‘s inventive 44-foot cat also includes such novel features as built-in solar panels, a three-person raised helm station, and davits that hold dinghies, surfboards, and kayaks. The Helia 44 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.
