B&G Offers Wireless Access to Charts and More

New GoFree cloud-based technology allows your MFD to download charts and software updates without a computer.

B&G’s Zeus2 multifunction displays and Zeus 2 Glass Helm systems just got a little bit smarter with the launch of parent company Navico’s GoFree cloud-based technology. All you need is a Wifi connection and you can download and install software updates from your MFD without the need of a computer. At the GoFree Shop, users can purchase and download the company’s Insight maps as well as those from a number of third-party vendors. GoFree also gives sailors access to Insight Genesis, a cloud-based tool that lets you open an account and then upload sonar soundings to create personalized charts and contribute to crowd sourced maps, which also are available. GoFree technology is available for those with Simrad NSS Evo2 and Simrad NSO Evo2 systems as well.
