Hallberg-Rassy 372: A Mini Review

Carol Vernon finds this new hull shape considerably faster than it's predecessor in her review for the CW 2010 Sailboat Show

368 Hallberg Rassy 372 mini

Although similar in overall dimensions to the center-cockpit HR-37, the new aft cockpit 372 is a brand new hull shape from German Frers. More similar to the HR-342, the new design has a shallower canoe body, deeper keel, fuller transom and is considerably faster. With more sheer and details like a recessed furling drum, the 372 is a bit more elegant and a sail plan with smaller jibs make sailing easier. An optional masthead gennaker may be flown off a removable bowsprit to give the boat superb downwind performance. Double cabins are fore and aft with the salon providing additions berths. The boat comes equipped for coastal cruising and is fully capable of ocean transits.
