Pigs may never fly, but they apparently have no trouble sailing, swimming, or just lounging on deck. “Community Spotlight” for our September 10, 2009,
Tania Aebi was 18, when she set off to sail solo around the world in the 1980’s. But as she discussed on NPR recently, that’s relatively old compared to the kids (like 17 year old Mike Perham) that are completing solo circumnavigations these days.
Apart from getting out there and learning by trial (and possibly) error, there’s no better way to learn about offshore passage making, than from the people who have done it before.
Needless to say, the whale got our attention.
Finally, there’s an anchoring regulation in the United States that cruisers will like-and of all places, it’s been enacted in Florida.
