If you’re looking for a sailing vacation the whole family can enjoy, consider the B.V.I. Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival. Presented by Nanny Cay Marina Hotel & Resort in Tortola, B.V.I., this year’s event runs from March 26 to April 1, 2007.

The festival gives you the option to race or cruise, on your own boat or on a bareboat, for the three-day regatta or for the entire seven-day festival. Numerous charter companies offer a wide range of monohulls and catamarans, and there are also plenty of shoreside accommodations and activities to keep everyone satisfied. For more information, contact www.bvispringregatta.org or (284) 494- 3286.

If you want to polish your racing skills before spring, consider attending the 27th annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, set for March 1 to March 4, 2007. The Moorings, Sunsail, and VPM provide the regatta’s designated, St. Maarten-based bareboat fleet. (Bareboats rented from other islands are permitted, but are subject to race-committee approval.) For information, including a complete listing of participating charter companies, visit www.heinekenregatta.com or call (599) 544-2079.
