Florida School and Instructor Honored
The American Sailing Association has named Florida Sailing & Cruising School, a branch of Southwest Florida Yachts (www.swfyachts.com), a 2011 outstanding school, saluting it as one of its 20 best sailing-instruction programs in North America.

The ASA, whose courses of instruction certify students in levels from basic sailing and chartering to advanced passagemaking, also named the school’s Captain Christopher Day as one of its 30 top instructors of the year.

Both awards were based on the number of excellent evaluations from students who attended ASA-certified sailing courses at the school. Florida Sailing & Cruising School has been ASA-accredited since shortly after it was founded in 1984. For details, contact the school (www.flsailandcruiseschool.com).
