First Mate
Choosing the winner for the First Mate Photo Contest actually proved to be more difficult than we expected! We received about 75 photos showcasing first mates—men, women, kids, even dogs!— doing all sorts of jobs around the boat from helming and navigating to working aloft on the mast and under the deck tightening fittings (well, maybe not the dogs).
What we love about the winning shot, submitted by CW community member sailingbeech, is how happy the mate is at the helm. We think that she’ll look great in her new Atlantis WeatherGear Aegis jacket!
Thanks to all who entered—it’s been fun seeing snapshots of your lives, and it always makes us smile to see people having a great time aboard their boats. Even during the tasks that are truly a labor of love! We’ll be running more photo contests all summer—keep the pics coming!
