Stretch your sailing opportunities near home well into the fall of 2012. The Moorings has opened a base in Annapolis, Maryland, and Sunsail has opened one in San Francisco.
Sail, power, and skippered charters are offered aboard monohulls and multihulls from The Moorings by Annapolis Landing Marina, near downtown Annapolis. The opening of this Annapolis base is meant both to expand accessible seasonal sailing options for U.S. clients with boats in the company’s worldwide fleet and to attract new owners. A key aspect of the new incentive program includes offering owners unlimited access to their yachts. The Moorings also plans to open a base in Miami.
Sunsail has opened its San Francisco base at Sausalito Yacht Harbor, where it offers a new matched fleet of Sunsail First 40s. Racing, corporate hospitality and events, team-building and incentive programs, bareboat and skippered charters, and a sailing school with courses based on the American Sailing Association curriculum are available.
The opening of the new Sunsail base is timed to events surrounding the 34th America’s Cup. The 2012-2013 America’s Cup World Series runs from August 11 to August 19, 2012, and from August 27 to September 2, 2012. The Louis Vuitton AC Challenger Series runs from July 4 to September 1, 2013; the 34th America’s Cup runs from September 7 to September 22, 2013.
