Middletown, R.I. – At the 16th annual Boating Writers International (BWI) Writing Contest, Cruising World and Sailing World collected 16 honors in all, including five first-place awards and were recognized in 10 of the 16 categories. For the second straight year, Cruising World was the top-winning magazine.
Cruising World writers Herb McCormick, Alvah Simon, Gary Goodlander and Stacey Collins each took home a first-place award, while Stuart Streuli took home a first-place prize for Sailing World. The top-honor award for Sailing World was its first win ever in the BWI contest.
“We are thrilled and honored that our titles did so well,” said Sally Helme, Publisher of Cruising World and Sailing World. “These awards are notable because quality content is more important than ever – it inspires our readers to pursue their sailing dreams and provides a compelling editorial environment for our advertisers.”
