It’s official! Matt Rutherford finished his incredible solo journey around the Americas on April 18, when he crossed his original track over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel at 10:48 EST. This makes him the first person to complete a solo, nonstop circumnavigation of both North America & South America.

He began the jouney last June, and his 10 months at sea have included sailing through the Northwest Passage and around Cape Horn on a 27-foot Albin Vega. Rutherford embarked on this adventure to raise $250,000 for Chesapeake Region Accessible Sailing.

Want to celebrate his landfall? Matt plans to tie up in Annapolis on Saturday, April 21! For more details, click here.
