How To Submit Articles And Recipes

Guidelines for submitting recipes to Cruising World.

We hope you’ll share your culinary creations with the Cruising World community. Here are your options for submitting recipes, in descending order of editorial formality.

1.) For Publication in Cruising World magazine

Please submit articles for possible publication in the magazine either via email to lyndachildress@yahoo.com or by snail mail to “People & Food,” Cruising World, 55 Hammarlund Way, Middletown, RI 02842. Please do not submit snapshots or slides. Digital images will be considered; size should be 4 x 5 at 300 dpi or larger.

Recipes should include 200- to 500-word sailing yarn that relates to how you invented or discovered the recipe submitteed, or why it’s among your favorites. (Humor is encouraged!) Please also include a few sentences about yourself, your boat, your sailing partner(s), where you’ve sailed, and where you’re currently cruising. Payment varies from $50 to $150 depending on the length of the submission.

2.) For Publication in “People & Food Online” in CW Reckonings and on CruisingWorld.com

Please send a recipe or recipes accompanied by a paragraph or two about yourself, your boat, your sailing partners, where you’ve cruised and are currently cruising. E-mail submissions to peopleandfoodonline@cruisingworld.com. We don’t pay for online submissions, but we’ll polish them up, promote them in CW Reckonings, and post on CruisingWorld.com for all the world to share.

3.) For Publication in the “From Your Galley” section of CruisingWorld.com

Members of the CW community can use our online form to post recipes to their Logbooks and to the “From Your Galley” section of the website. This is the easiest way to share your recipes, and the perfect first step towards contributing to “People and Food.” Submit your recipe today.
