Cruising World takes Top Honors

CW editors and contributers win 22 awards at annual Boating Writers International Awards for 2010

Alvah Simon took first place in the Boating Travel or Destinations Category with this story about cruising in Alaska.

Cruising World swept honors at the annual Boating Writers International awards, announced Friday morning, February 18, during the Strictly Sail Miami boat show. The magazine’s writers and editors earned three firsts, five seconds, and one third, in categories ranging from boating lifestyles to environment and gear tests. In the boating travel/destination category, CW claimed all prizes, from first place to certificate of merit. CW contributors also took 13 certificates of merit in the 18th annual contest. Sailing World, sister publication to CW, also earned awards; other titles in the Bonnier Marine Group, of which CW is included, also won honors.
